Leadership begins with Personal Leadership

The doctors said there is a 90% chance he has cancer of the pancreas.

Despite the outpouring of love and prayers we received from family and friends, I was feeling sorry for my husband and myself.

One day, my birthday, the Lord got my attention and I saw myself as I was; self absorbed, negative, victimized!  It wasn’t pretty.  I was useless to my family and myself!

Immediately I knew that, whatever the outcome of this illness, it will not defeat us.  With God’s help we will face it head on dealing with procedures, doctors, medical information, bills, hospitals, etc.

Under the influence of outside worries, I forgot who I am and whose I am.  I was useless to Ed, my family and those praying for us.

We still don’t know what will happen next.  We do know we are taken care of and face each day with prayer and courage.

How would you meet such a challenge?
